Past Simple

This is an A2-B1 level worksheet designed to introduce students to the past simple tense. The worksheet starts with a grammar explanation and a table of example simple past sentences. The students will complete some controlled gap-fill exercises, and then practice having a phone call in which they must explain to their partner why they did not come to a party. After that the students will listen to 3 conversations about holidays in the simple past, and then practice talking about holidays themselves. This worksheet could be used to introduce the students to past simple, but could also just be used for a basic brush up.
