Invitations and Making Plans
This is an A2 level worksheet about making plans and invitations which also looks at using present contionuous to talk about the future. The worksheet follows the story of a wedding.
First, the class will warm up with some basic questions about plans and invites. Then they will read an invitation to a wedding and answer some comprehension questions.
After this the worksheet looks at present continuous to talk about the future (e.g. “I am having dinner with a friend on Sunday), and the class will read an explanation and then take turns practicing asking and answering schedule based questions with a partner (e.g. “What are you doing on Friday?”).
After this they will read a conversation about the wedding invitation that uses present contiounuous to talk about the future.
The worksheet ends with a roleplay exercise in which students must verbally invite their partner to events or parties, and their partner must make up excuses as to why they can’t come.
