Past Simple Betting Game
Note: The answers to the quiz are only found in the teacher’s version (TV) PDF. You will need this for the game.
This past simple game is perfect for students who want to practice past simple in an entertaining way. Students must read through 10 historical and complete the facts with past simple verbs. Five of the facts are true and 5 are fake. The students will then bet on which facts are true and which are fake (the students have $100 imaginary dollars per round). The teacher will keep track of the bets and use the Teacher’s Version (TV) of the worksheet to say which facts are true and which are false. There are 2 rounds of this betting game (so 20 facts all in all) and whoever has the most “money” at the end is the winner.
