Dad Jokes

This is a high-level conversational lesson based around humour. This is a great short worksheet for a high level class that likes to laugh, and needs a break from more difficult subjects such as grammar.

The lesson starts with some warm up questions about humour and then moves on to a vocabulary exercise in which students must complete sentences with different words relating to humour (e.g. “dry humour” and “slapstick humour”).

Then the students will read through a list of “dad jokes” and puns to see which they can understand, and discuss which they find funny and which they don’t.

The lesson ends with an optional online task that requires the students to visit a website that lists some of the best puns made on the internet.
