Asking for and Giving Directions

This is an A1-A2 worksheet about asking for and giving directions. It contains speaking, writing, reading, and listening elements. The students will learn useful vocabulary for giving directions, and then read a conversation and study a map to see if they can find the location being described. Next they will practice using the new vocabulary to write their own directions, and the practice giving and asking for directions verbally. They will also practice making polite questions with “could”, and learn useful vocabulary for different locations around a city. The final exercise asks the students to listen to a GPS and look at a map and select which area the GPS is directing them to. This worksheet will work well with any A2 class looking to practice directions, and may also give them some confidence about their listening abilities.

The transcript for the audio can be found at the end of the Teacher’s Version (TV).
