Prepositions of Place
This is a beginner (A1) level PDF worksheet that looks at prepositions of place such as in, under, next to, between etc. Students will learn some basic prepositions of place and then make sentences to describe some pictures. Next, students will look at a picture of a room and select the correct preposition from several sentences. This will help them improve their prepositions, but also contains a lot of level appropriate vocabulary about common things found around a house (books, chairs, etc).
After that students will write some sentences about the room around them using some of the prepositions they have learned, and then look at a picture and practice asking their teacher the names of things in the picture (e.g. “What is under the cup?”). Finally students will listen to an audio and match the sentences in the audio to 3 pictures.
This worksheet should work well with any A1 level class that needs to expand their vocabulary and build some confidence.
