What’s your favourite?

What’s your favourite?

This is a beginner level lesson about discussing favourites. It is a worksheet that will help A1 students discuss likes and dislikes, and also contains a lot of useful basic vocabulary about hobbies, foods, and sports. It is also useful for students learning possessive pronouns such as ‘my’, ‘his’, and ‘our.’

The worksheet starts by asking the class to match sentences which use the phrase “my favourite”  to pictures. After this students will ask eachhother “what’s your favourite?” questions (for example, “what’s your favourite food?”)

After this the class must complete sentences about favourites using possessive pronouns such as ‘his’, ‘her’, and ‘their.’ Next, the students will use the same possessive pronouns to complete a dialogue about a family and their favourite day.

Finally, the class will read an simple explanation of ‘my least favourite’, and ask and asnwer a series of questions to eachother about their least favourite things (‘What’s your least favourite colour?’ etc). They will write down their partner’s answers and read them to the class, practicing possessive pronouns ‘his’ or ‘her.’ Finally, students will read a pizza menu and decide which pizza is their favourite and which is their least favourite and why.
