Hope power and change

Hope, Power, and Change

Get your students thinking, debating, and sharing their opinions with this engaging B2 ESL lesson on social change, activism, equality, and hope. Through a variety of speaking activities, learners explore who has the power to create change, discuss some of today’s biggest global challenges, and evaluate different forms of activism and civic engagement.

The lesson includes a practical grammar focus on expressing contrasting ideas (although, however, despite, while, yet, and more), helping students communicate complex opinions with greater accuracy and confidence.

Students then watch an inspiring TED Talk by Malala Yousafzai, exploring her journey, her reflections on changing the world, and the lessons she has learned about hope, progress, and collective action.
