This B1/B2 Business English lesson is the first in a short series following Maya through the job application process, from updating her CV to taking the next steps in her career.
In this first lesson, students explore what makes a strong CV in English and how to present professional experience effectively. They discuss what information belongs on a CV, consider what makes someone a strong candidate, analyse a realistic job advert and evaluate Maya’s CV against the requirements of the role.
Students then discover more about Maya’s experience and practise turning this information into clear, effective CV bullet points using strong action verbs, specific details and results. The lesson combines practical CV writing practice with plenty of speaking and discussion around careers, skills, qualifications, achievements and job applications.
Ideal for adult and young adult B1/B2 learners looking to develop their Business English and feel more confident talking and writing about their professional experience.
Enjoy!
