This A2-B1 worksheet looks at the subject of clothing, and includes speaking, writing, and listening exercises. The worksheet starts with a basic matching exercise in which students must match pictures of clothes to their names. Next, the class will ask and answer some conversation questions about clothes, shopping habits, and taste in fashion, and then will be asked to write 3 sentences about the person they asked the questions to (e.g. “He usually buys his clothes online).

In the next section students are asked to sort phrases such as “this hoodie is too loose” and “This tie looks amazing” into positive and negative categories. Students will then look at photos of 8 people, describe what they are wearing and whether or not they think it looks good. This should give them a good opportunity to use the vocabulary they have used so far.

In the next section of the worksheet, students learn some core vocabulary (such as “discount” and “size”) they need to understand 3 conversations about clothes. They will learn and practice these words, and then listen to 3 conversations between two friends who are going clothes shopping. While listening to these conversations they must answer some true or false questions, and each conversation has a “bonus” questions.

This worksheet will work well with any class that wants to not only learn the vocabulary for clothing, but also practice the subjects around it such as phrases for shopping and discussing taste in clothes.

The transcript for the audio files can be found at the end of the Teacher’s Version (TV).
