Business Study: Tesla

This is an upper-intermediate PDF worksheet about Tesla. The worksheet has reading, speaking, and listening sections, contains a video based section, and also looks at present perfect progressive.

The lesson starts with a brief warm-up, after which students will discuss the various pros and cons of electric vehicles. After this students will read an article about the many issues Tesla has been facing recently, including declining sales in Europe, lawsuits in America, and large scale recalls in China. Students will be given a series of words to complete the article, and must choose the correct one. The article also contains many examples of present perfect and present perfect progressive, so this may be a good time to point them out to your class.

After this students will read a description of the differences between present perfect and present perfect progressive, and then will read through some sentences and decide which tense fits best. Next they will practice making their own present perfect progressive sentences about the car industry in general.

After this students will read some in-depth articles about issues which Tesla is dealing with at the moment, and describe what they read to their partner, preferably using some present perfect progressive.

The final exercise in the worksheet is a video based exercise about the history of Tesla. Students must watch this video and answer some comprehension questions about it.
